Chuck Reynolds suggested an idea (#1159) · Mar 10, 2017 at 08:49 PM · shell
Hi all - I need to read a list of VMs and then present that list to the user to pick from for input into a VM cloud request.
Gary Wilson commented · Mar 13, 2017 at 11:13 AM
This sounds very similar to a request from a major new telco customer who wants to build new integrations with tools like Selenium using CloudShell Authoring. Input parameters to functions/methods in a driver can be numeric/string/enumerated etc but enumerated is not dynamic, only fixed values compiled into the driver. The customer needs something more flexible whereby they can control a pick list of values at run-time based on the items available for selection in the current GUI window.
The above ability would be very powerful in building any new driver/integration.

I'm happy to update that this idea is planned for the upcoming release (Dynamic attribute possible values - new API)

A new API AddValueToLookupAttribute has been added to address this idea request in CloudShell version 2022.1
