TSI Support suggested an idea (#3611) · May 18, 2018 at 07:46 PM · execution serverload balancerreservation
We have a need to do load balancing and spin up/down execution servers based on loading requirements from future reservations. The use case is setting up user infrastructures based on demand for training and exercise environments and load balancing them and bringing them online and then taking them offline after the need is gone.

Hi Chuck , you can use the QsExecutionServerConsoleConfig.exe cli tool in order to register execution servers with the Quali Servers for spining up (http://help.quali.com/Online%20Help/8.3/Portal/Content/Admn/Cnfg-Ansible-ES-Sprt.htm?Highlight=QsExecutionServerConsoleConfig.exe, also applicable for windows based execution servers)
However please note the spinning down ES, using this tool is risky since it takes a while for the execution server to be unregistered from the server which can cause commands to be stuck in queue.

Ideally if the Execution servers were moved over to K8, we could more easily adjust the dial based on future reservation demand/load. It's all .NET based, no?
