Nicholas Kirby suggested an idea (#3947) · Aug 27, 2018 at 01:25 PM · portal
My customer publishes a variable called "Arguments" for input from the job suite, however the box that is displayed in the job suite editor is very small, and makes it difficult to add long lines of text, or to change parts within the middle of a long line of text, which happens semi-frequently. Changing this text box to a resizable text box would make it much easier to work with larger amounts of text.

Hi Nick,
That makes sense, we will look into the possibility of adding this to the backlog- making the field largetr and providing tooltip if still content not fully displayed

Hi,
It's possible to achieve this functionality using the out-of-the-box CSS override feature. To do that you need to add a customer_overide.css file as described here. In the file, add the following:
.uiTestCell { width: 250px !important; }
The recommended width is 250px, but it is possible to experiment with it and find what is suitable to you.
Thanks,
Alona.

@Alona.G What is the default width of that text box? Also, will that apply to all text boxes, or is there a way to set certain boxes certain widths without it changing all argument text boxes?
Alona Getzler commented · Sep 13, 2018 at 07:03 PM
The default is 177 px. This will apply to all argument text boxes, and there is no way to set the width of specific boxes.

I just ran some tests, and changing the width of that element isn't going to work. There is a duration box next to the variable box, and that changes the duration box as well. It looks very odd having a massive box to input the duration, and it takes away space that could be used for the agrument box.
